Raise funds for rivers

It’s time to Put the Fun in Fundraising

Can you help raise funds for rivers? Ribble Rivers Trust are experts in all things water, and it’s our mission to improve rivers for wildlife and people. But we want more than that, we want to give everyone the chance to explore the wonderful world of rivers!

Our work ranges from education, community engagement, increasing river access, and farm advice to fish surveying, data collection, evidence analysis, and river monitoring to fish passage, river renaturalisation, habitat connectivity, wetland creation, and woodland creation (deep breath). Not forgetting the hundreds of people that take part in Ribble Rivers Trust’s volunteering and citizen science programme! When you join Team Ribble you can make all of these amazing things happen!

Our then chairman, Philip Lord, completed a walking challenge to raise funds for rivers.

Back in 2021 our Chairman, Philip Lord, raised over £5,000 for us by taking part in a walking challenge. What’s even more impressive is that Philip was 82 years old at the time.

Every day Philip walked a 4.7 mile route with his four legged friend Freddie. Philip originally hoped to reach 100 miles. However, once we saw how generous people were with their donations, Philip carried on.

In the end, Philip didn’t stop until he reached 500 miles!

There are some amazing fundraising ideas out there. In fact, you can turn pretty much anything into an opportunity to raise money. So, whether you’re plummeting out of a plane or just popping the kettle on, we’d love to hear from you.

Whether you need ideas and inspiration, or just need to polish your skills, we’ve got you covered. Now, we know that not everyone is a fan of the limelight. So if you prefer to help in other ways you can become a supporter or a volunteer.

Why should I raise funds for rivers?

Our planet is facing unprecedented environmental challenges, and it’s up to all of us to take action and do our part. One of the best ways to make a positive impact in your local community is by supporting the Ribble Rivers Trust, a charity dedicated to protecting and preserving local rivers and wildlife.

When you raise funds for Ribble Rivers Trust, you can make a real difference in your community. Whether you choose to organize a bake sale, take part in a skydive, or participate in a sponsored fish-athon (catch and release of course!), every pound you raise will go directly towards protecting the environment and the wildlife that depends on it.

By supporting the Ribble Rivers Trust, you can also help to promote awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. By organizing fundraising events and inspiring others, you can help to spread the word about the importance of preserving our natural resources for future generations.

Overall, raising funds for the Ribble Rivers Trust is an excellent way to make a positive impact in your local community. By supporting our charity, you can help to protect and preserve local rivers and wildlife, promote awareness of environmental issues, and make a real difference in the world around you. So why not start today and raise funds for this worthy cause?
